Straightforward Assessment and Treatment Plan

I've heard that other Chiropractors do a pressurized sales pitch method during the first visit and was grateful to find that is not the case here. Just a straightforward assessment and treatment plan with no need to sign an extended sales contract. The assessment and adjustments really sell themselves. Dr Boccella listens well and takes time to answer questions and explain diagnoses and treatments. So thankful I was referred to his practice!

Absolute Best Experience

My first visit was one of the absolute best experiences I've ever had at a chiropractic office — and I've seen a lot of (traditional) chiropractors. I was nervous to go to yet another chiropractor, but I was still struggling with lingering pain from an accident 5 years before. A trigger point therapist referred me to Dr. Boccella assuring me he was not the average chiropractor — and that Atlas Chiropractic is nothing like traditional chiropractic.

The therapist was right. The scan and x-rays at Dr. Boccella's office revealed more than I've ever known about the injuries I suffered in the accident. In spite of hundreds of chiropractic and physical therapy appointments in the last five years, no one had actually seen the underlying problems and addressed them directly. Dr. Boccella did both in the first visit. That doesn't mean I don't have to go back or I don't have to follow a protocol for recovery — I do. But now I have hope that real healing can finally begin.

If that wasn't enough... from my very first interaction with the staff on the phone to the visits to the office, everyone has been welcoming, caring, and willing to answer any questions. In a world where customer service seems to be disappearing, Atlas Chiropractic stands out in the most refreshing way.

Great facilities, outstanding doctor who immediately established great rapport, answered any and all questions and engendered great confidence in him and his ability to help me. My interactions with staff (Kailyn) have been excellent experiences from my very first cold call to the clinic to make my first inquiry and ask the first of many questions that I would eventually ask about the clinic, it's services, etc.

To say that my expectations were exceeded - is an understatement. Above and beyond in customer service from phone calls, personal interaction as a new patient, and office visit. This is a great staff and environment. Dr. Boccella was great at listening to my needs and explaining his course of actin to get me to where I need to be. Now, if I can convince him to start pulling for the Cowboys instead of the Eagles it would be perfect.

Neck Pain

Severe pain, actually, to the point that I could hardly function. I couldn't sleep more than 2 hours without waking up from the pain and it just plain hurt to do much else, including picking up my 2 yr old son. I was miserable. I went to a neurologist for trigger point injections four different times and even had an epidural injection in my spine all to no avail. I went through six months of physical therapy and, while that helped, it didn't get to the root of my pain.

My PT recommended Atlas Chiropractic because she felt Dr. Boccella's treatments could work where the physical therapy could not. I'd been to a chiropractor and, quite frankly, did not have a good experience so I was leery. I was assured that he would not pop, crack, twist, or jerk me around, so to speak =), so I made my appointment. Kristy was energetic and welcoming at the front desk, Gwen was kind and calming as she did my evaluation, and Dr. Boccella sealed the deal with his assurances of non-invasive techniques.

Within four weeks of treatment, I was feeling better than I had in 18 months. And now, two months later, the pain is minimal. I'm sleeping through the night and believe me, that makes everyone around me much happier! I can't say enough how much respect and appreciation I have for Dr. Boccella. His knowledge and expertise led to the right diagnosis and the right solution. I strongly recommend him!

Chronic Neck Pain

I had chronic neck pain for over 3 years. In those 3 years I had x-rays, MRI's, cat scans, physical therapy, and went to chiropractors who practice manual manipulation. As a last resort, I went to a dentist who specialized in TMJ thinking that the pain was related to that. He referred me to Dr. John. FINALLY..... RELIEF.... And after only two treatments! Dr. John spent a lot of time during the first visit explaining the results of the tests that were taken. He truly does care about the health and well-being of his patients.

I spent a few months traveling 1.25 hours each way to get to my appointments but it was well worth it. If you are reading these referrals, you are obviously searching for a doctor. I URGE YOU to visit Atlas Chiropractic of Raleigh. It's the best thing you will ever do for your body. Thank you Dr. John, Gwen, and Kristy for your exceptional service.

Headaches, Neck, Shoulder and Back Pain

I am very grateful to him and his wonderful team Raleigh chiropractic, Gwen and Kristy, for the patience, care and compassion they have shown me since I first became a patient of Atlas Chiropractic of Raleigh, as well as the results I have achieved under his care. For several years I had suffered with neck, shoulder, and back pain, and eventually severe tension headaches and migraines that became a daily occurrence in my life.

I had seen neurologists, physical therapists, massage therapists, and other chiropractors who practice the "typical" methods of chiropractic care including manual manipulation of the spine, but to no avail.

By chance one of the physical therapists working on my case mentioned that something about TMJ disorder, and suggested I research local dentists who treat this disorder. My search led me to a neuromuscular dentist, who collaborates with Dr. Boccella and an orthodontist to provide comprehensive care for the severe effects of TMJ disorder.

When I first visited Dr. Boccella, I was extremely skeptical, having been to so many chiropractors before with no luck. However, he was extremely patient as I fired questions at him at every visit, his explanations of the science and the mechanics behind his methods made sense, and his experience and eagerness to get to the root of the issue and to collaborate with the dentists on my needs and my progress gave me renewed hope. I was not disappointed. His chiropractic care and his consciousness for my overall well-being have changed my life.

Three years ago I never thought I would be saying this, but I am on the road to recovery, and only getting better. I no longer have daily headaches, or neck, shoulder, or back pain, and I can actually function at work and have a social life again. I can't thank Dr. Boccella and his team enough for all that they have done for me.

Constant Headaches

There was a time when I was almost incapacitated by a near constant headache, which I later learned was related to my atlas being misaligned and chronic neck and back problems. When Vioxx was taken off the market, I thought I was doomed. Atlas chiropractic care saved my life. I drive forty five minutes each way to see Dr. John and he has made it possible for me to live my life almost pain free! And without drugs!

Neck and Low Back Pain

I don't know why. When I was traveling as a small business consultant, one of my clients noticed my lower back and neck hurting issues and insisted I visit her Atlas Orthogonal chiropractor.

What a difference it has made in my life especially as I have continued to age. When I stopped all of the travel, I needed to find a local chiropractor and Dr. John has fit the bill. I go in with pain and barely able to walk; after an adjustment, all is well.

He, Gwen, and Kristy are always so bright and cheerful that it makes a visit to the doc a pleasure. All of them are truly interested in your wellness.

Car Accident Injuries

Nancy said: I drive over 2.5 hours each way to see Dr. Boccella and his team every 2-3 months. I used to go 2-3 times per week! That's how good his treatments are and likely I'll be only going 3-4 times per year for 'maintenance' soon.

After 26 years of pain from two car accidents, Dr. B was my key to healing. I had given up on chiropractic over 20 years ago, but, Dr. B's Upper Cervical/Atlas work is as different as night and day from ordinary chiropractic treatment.

He also advised me to partner his visits with a good Cranial and body therapist -- he sees the bigger wellness picture and spent time with my other therapist to ensure the whole 'team' was doing the best for me that they could. I have never met another doctor like him nor such a capable and nurturing staff. I am pain-free and feel better than I have felt in over 25 years and it keeps getting better!

Leg Pain, Back Pain and Headaches

There was a time when I suffered daily from leg pains, back pain, headaches and numerous other ailments. I was lucky if I was able to get 4 hours of sleep a night. I was taking so many prescriptions that I couldn't even remember what they were for. A friend of mine recommended Dr. John to me.

I had never been to a Chiropractor before and thought, why not - I've been to every other kind of doctor I might as well try this. Well, my life literally has changed dramatically since the 1st day I walked through his office doors. I was amazed to hear how your whole body can be affected when your spine and atlas are out of alignment.

The minute you walk through the door you are greeted by Kristy with a smile and instantly made to feel welcomed. Gwen greets you with a smile as you walk in the examining room and treats you like she's known you forever. Dr. John is always in a positive mood, smiling and listens without passing judgement. I trust his opinion to this day over any other medical professional I have ever met.

My whole family goes to his office, even my Grandchildren have regular check-ups with him and they are 6 and 3. If we are ever in the car driving by close to his office, they will ask us if we can go see Dr. John! What child ever asks for that??
